1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

1.1 Definition

A cookie is a text file that may be stored in a dedicated space on the hard disk of your terminal (in particular the hardware equipment (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. ….) that you use to consult or view a site, an application, or advertising content) when you consult an online service thanks to your browser.

A cookie file allows its issuer to identify the terminal in which it is stored, for the duration of validity or storage of the cookie.
Cookies are therefore data used by a server to send status information to a user’s browser, and by that browser to send status information back to the originating server. Status information can be, for example, a session ID, language, expiration date, response domain, etc.

1.2 Legal regime

Article 32 of the French Data Protection Act, following the transposition of the first Telecom package by Act No. 2004-669 of July 9, 2004 on electronic communications and audiovisual communication services, requires that each user be clearly and fully informed of the purpose of each type of cookie and the means available to oppose their installation.

2. WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE?

We use four primary types of cookies, the purposes of which are described below.

2.1 Analytical cookies

These are cookies that enable us to know the use and performance of our site, to establish statistics and volumes of visits and use of the various elements of our site (content visited, paths taken) enabling us to improve the interest and ergonomics of our services (the pages or sections most often consulted, the articles most frequently read, etc.) and to memorize information relating to your browsing preferences (choice of language for example).
On our site, these are cookies placed by france.fr on your terminal for the purposes of navigation, optimization and personalization of our services on the site (these cookies mainly concern our web analytics solutions).

2.2 Session cookies

These are cookies that disappear as soon as the user leaves the site.

2.3 Permanent cookies

These are cookies that remain on the user’s terminal until their lifetime expires or until the user deletes them using the browser’s functions.

The express consent for the setting of permanent, analytical or session cookies is not required, as the data is used for statistical purposes and the information described herein clearly informs about the nature, type and use of cookies.

2.4 Tracking cookies

These are cookies that allow the traceability of users as the data of raw attendance associating an identifier (an IP address for example). This information is kept for a maximum of six (6) months, from their first insertions without possibility of extension during new visits. Beyond this period, this data is deleted and/or anonymized.

The express agreement of the implementation of tracking cookies is not mandatory because we have a device of deletion and / or anonymization of data collected beyond six (6) months.

The cookies below, relating to advertising and third party cookies, are not used by Atout France and are indicated for your full information.

2.5 Advertising cookies

Advertising cookies require prior consent from the user (art 32 of the French law on information technology and freedom).
